Nic: What is your favourite item of clothing?

Brett: I can’t think of just one, I have so many favourites. I will say my favourite new item is my Man Skirt from Kim Gush. … seriously you guys have no idea how awesome this is/

Nic: What is the oldest item of clothing you own?

Brett: Its a Diesel jersey I bought for R800 from Monte Casino Diesel store about 20 years ago, it still fits, its still perfect

Nic: Who is your favourite fashion designer?

Brett: Impossible question.

Local: Kim Gush, Rebellious Blessed African, Swede and Crowe and Eleclass

International: Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh, closely followed by Balmain, Ejderforlife, Skingraft designs and Black Kaviar

Nic: What was your favourite item of clothing as child?

Brett: My khaki corduroy pants (I think)

Nic: How many suits do you own?

Brett: 3… but I’m not happy with any of them.

Nic: How often do you wear a tie?

Brett: almost never

Nic: Favourite accessory? (wrist band, watch, pocket square, tie, etc etc)

Brett: bracelets, and rings that I dont need to remove. I have a watch that bought off a street vendor in Ukraine that has analogue dials and all russian details which is cool, it future date end in 1988, which I find SUPER cool. I also have a silk scarf from the Label Fummel Und Kram in Germany which was sent to me by the designer. I treasure that.

Nic: How often do you shop for clothing?

Brett: OFTEN

Nic: Do you shop online for clothes and where?

Brett: Never, I need to try things on and feel the fabric. I hate the idea of online clothes shopping. I have a weird body, things dont fit me easily

Nic: What’s the last thing you bought online?

Brett: Thom Yorkes Latest album

Nic: Most expensive fashion item you’ve ever purchased?

Brett: This is not too bad I suppose, in the general context of fashion. I bought a pair of all leather wincklepickers for R1500 about 6 years ago. I still have them and they’re still beautiful

Nic: Your least favourite thing to wear?

Brett: pleated trousers …. so, never

Nic: When was the last time you did the washing yourself and hung the clothes?

Brett: Today, yesterday, the day before

Nic: What kind of a shopper are you? Dash and leave or meander and browse?

I’m both, depending on my mood.

Nic: Does anyone help you shop or dress?

Brett: People offer suggestions, but generally its just me.

Nic: Where do you look for style or fashion inspiration?

Brett: The streets, instagram and my imagination
